Fair Use Policy

BookedUp is designed for legitimate service business use. This policy defines acceptable usage, plan-specific limits, and how we handle exceptional volumes to keep the service reliable for everyone.

Last updated: March 26, 2026

1. Purpose

BookedUp offers flat-rate subscription plans that include unlimited calling and messaging subject to fair use limits. This policy exists to prevent abuse, ensure platform stability, and keep service quality high for all customers — especially during high-volume periods.

Our fair use limits are set well above what the average service business needs. If you are running a legitimate service operation, this policy will not affect you.

2. Plan-Specific Usage Limits

Each plan includes the following monthly usage allowances. "Usage" refers to outbound SMS messages sent, inbound messages processed, and AI conversation turns consumed.

Plan Monthly SMS (out) AI Conversations Contacts Booking Pages
Starter — $49/mo 500 messages 200 conversations 500 contacts 1 page
Pro — $99/mo 2,000 messages 1,000 conversations Unlimited 3 pages

Usage is measured per calendar month and resets on your billing renewal date. Limits are per account, not per phone number.

3. Usage Thresholds & Grace Period

We notify you progressively as you approach your plan limit so you're never caught off guard:

80%
Email warning sent — review usage in dashboard
100%
Limit reached — 5-day grace period begins
150%
Hard cap — service paused until reset or upgrade

Grace Period Details

When you hit 100% of your plan limit, you enter a 5-day grace period during which service continues normally. During this window, you can:

  • Upgrade to a higher plan to continue without interruption
  • Wait for your billing cycle to reset
  • Contact support to discuss a custom usage arrangement

If usage reaches 150% of your plan limit during the grace period, outbound messaging is paused until your cycle resets or you upgrade. Inbound message logging continues so you don't lose leads.

Important: We never charge overage fees. BookedUp is flat-rate, always. When you exceed limits, we pause — not bill more. Upgrade if you need more capacity.

4. Prohibited Content & Use

BookedUp may not be used for the following:

  • Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging — sending promotional messages to contacts who did not initiate contact with your business
  • Political campaigning or advocacy — use for elections, ballot measures, or political fundraising
  • Adult or explicit content — messages of a sexual or adult-only nature
  • Illegal activities — any use that violates federal, state, or local law
  • Harassment — repeated unwanted contact with any individual
  • Reselling or white-labeling — offering BookedUp's service under another brand without a written reseller agreement
  • Automated bot traffic — using scripts, bots, or automation tools to artificially inflate usage metrics
  • Non-service businesses — accounts that are not operated as a legitimate service-based business (e.g., salons, HVAC, plumbing, dental, electrical, contractors)

Accounts found in violation of this policy may be suspended immediately without refund.

5. Pricing & Plan Changes

Prices are subject to change. BookedUp reserves the right to adjust subscription pricing, plan limits, and feature availability at any time.

When pricing changes occur:

  • Existing subscribers receive at least 30 days' advance notice by email before any price increase takes effect
  • If you do not cancel before the notice period ends, the new pricing applies at your next billing renewal
  • Plan limits may be adjusted upward (more usage) or downward with reasonable notice
  • New customers may see different pricing than existing subscribers during transition periods
Current prices: Starter $49/mo · Pro $99/mo (or 20% off with annual billing). These prices apply to new sign-ups as of the date above. Existing subscribers are grandfathered at their current rate until notified otherwise.

6. Enforcement

BookedUp monitors usage patterns to identify potential policy violations. Automated systems flag accounts that exceed normal thresholds; human review follows before any enforcement action is taken.

If your account is flagged:

  • You will be notified by email with specific details of the concern
  • You have 5 business days to respond before any service restriction is applied
  • Legitimate high-volume businesses can request a custom arrangement

We are not trying to penalize businesses for growing. If you are scaling fast and running into limits, reach out — we will work with you.
